| This is what I looked like while I was taking
the following photos (I took all the photos in this album, unless otherwise
donoted, or if the photo is of me)... Huddled inside my big red parka (I
love Big Red). My camera is a trooper. The Nikon D-70 has held up well
in the cold. I'm very impressed with the battery life. When I purchased
the camera last year, I spent the extra money to get two the fancier
long life batteries (rechargable of course). In the cold (which we have
plenty of in Antarctica), batteries die very quickly. I used one battery
all
through Winfly (August, September, and the beginning of October), and
never needed to change it. Wow - I'm impressed. Technology these days.
There were times when I was shooting photos, and my fingers (and the
rest of me) were dying of cold - but the camera just kept shooting away. Email me while I'm on the Ice at Zondra.Skertich@usap.gov .......................................................... Return to Zondra.org |
