This is a fumerol near the top of Mt. Erebus, the active volcano on our island, Ross Island (the southernmost active volcano in the world). Though James didn't take this particular photo, he did get to get to go see the fumerols, when he went on a training trip to the top of Mt. Erebus, with the Search And Rescue (SAR) Team. I didn't get to get out much, and so I had to live vicariously through James and his SAR adventures.
