So, I was getting ready for the big party, and I knew that I wanted a couple photo taken outdoors, with the nice lighting. That way you could see my paint glowing nicely. And I had to take a couple nice photos, so that you folks back home could see how my costume turned out, since you all have been helping me with it. Photos just like Last Year!! Well, I figured that the best choice for a backdrop for a nice photo was in front of the Gym, where the party was held. That way I could put the Sea Ice, and the Royal Society Mountain range behind the photo. Instead of in front of my dorm, where there are just ugly buildings. Good plan, right? OK, it didn't work out quite as planned. I was covered in body paint, except for a
very small top, and a skirt. I didn't want to mess up my paint on the
walk over to the party, from my dorm. AND, I didn't want to loose my
jacket in the gym (we all wear matching red parkas). Best idea? Leave
my jacket at home and get to the party quickly. Oops, the party was
on the complete opposite side of town.... now remember, I'm in Antarctica,
right? It's cold here!!! Oh, and Halloween is still
early ennough in
the summer,
where it's got some of that spring chill going on. And Halloween party
night was particularly cold. And I had no jacket, and body paint doesn't
do much to keep one warm. I was quite cold by the time I got to the
party.... SO, posing for that perfect photo just outside the gym didn't
quite happen. Look through all these photos to see what I got instead: |
