HOME!! Finally, we pulled into McMurdo, at about 10:00 Saturday Night. Not
only did we just have a 3 day vacation, but now the weekend was about to
start, and we had Sunday off of work (isn't it sad that we call one day
off a
weekend?).... The town looked dead as we were pulling in, and we realized
that everyone was inside partying, as it was the last saturday night before
the bars closed for ship offload. Our annual resupply vessel was due in,
and once it gets here, the town goes dry (well, no alcohal sold, it's still
drank, though)... At the time I'm writing this (exactly a week later, on
Saturday) the supply vessel is in town and things are going smoothly with
offload.
