Just
when I thougth I'd scene it all, after my trip to the Dry Valleys, I
got news of another cool trip. I got to ride on Coast Guard Icebreaker,
the Polar Sea to Marble Point. Marble Point is a helochopter refueling
station across the McMurdo sound, near the Dry Valleys. It has been three
years since Marble Point has been fueled, but this year they were able
to get
in there, so a bunch of fuelies, some GA's, and a few other people from
McMurdo boarded the Polar Sea for a day commute for a day's worth of
work, and another day's commute back. We departed on my Birthday for this
spectacular trip.
